OUR STORY

MEET LUKASZ & LUKASZ!

Our story began back in 1983 when 98% of British households had televisions, both BBC and ITV had started their first ever regular breakfast show. The film industry was producing what were to become iconic movies such as Scarface, Star Wars and many more. Meanwhile in Poland, amongst the beating heart of Polish Cinematography, in a city called Lodz also known as “HollyLodz” the two of us, Lukasz and Lukasz were born to two families yet to meet...

It wasn't until 15 years later that we met for the first time, instantly connecting over a passion for music and quickly became best friends, as we remain to this day. It wasn't just the music we connected on, we also connected on our mutual interest in architecture and construction. We both went on to study construction full time for five years at Technical Construction College in Poland, learning all aspects of construction.

On graduating from college, we were now equipped with the skills to read and draught technical drawings, with a great knowledge of different building materials and techniques. At this time, we thought these skills and knowledge could only be used on building sites and couldn't be transferable elsewhere. It was time for us both to spread our wings and build our own path for our future...

Our next chapter took off in 2005, when looking for different challenges in life we ended up in London. It wasn't long before we found employment at Fabry Trading Limited, one of the biggest set construction companies at that time in London. Starting from the bottom of the company, we quickly gained and developed our skills, essential in the art of set building. Working full time in a busy workshop, building scenery for shows such as Top Gear, Little Britain, The Chase and many many more. Here we learnt the importance of planning, teamwork, good attitude and a great passion for our work.

We were lucky to have had such an amazing opportunity to learn set building from most skilful people in this industry. When Fabry Trading closed in 2017 we felt the natural step was to start providing our own services constructing scenery for the film and television industry. This is when L2L was born. Setting up our workshop in Bristol we had launched ourselves fully into our journey set building and never looked back since.
